The Mannheim Medical Faculty is one of two independent medical faculties at the University of Heidelberg (UHEI). Together with the University Hospital Mannheim, it forms the University Medicine Mannheim (UMM). Jonathan Sleeman is Professor for Microvascular Biology and Pathobiology at UHEI/UMM. His research team aims to understand the process of metastasis, and to use this knowledge to develop novel anti-cancer therapies.
Their role in the LUCIA project is to lead WP5, to functionally validate a role for novel genetic risk factors in lung cancer initiation and development, and to identify novel targets for therapeutic intervention.
