Value realization workshop

On 28 November 2024, at the LUCIA consortium meeting, the YAGHMA team organized a Value Realization workshop to address key challenges and identify solutions for the LUCIA project. Prior to the workshop, the team conducted a thematic analysis to categorize potential challenges into four key themes. These challenges were gathered from interviews with LUCIA clinical partners on the progress of the clinical study, barriers collected through the LUCIA Social Lab workshops held earlier in 2024, reviewer feedback from the last LUCIA periodic report, and insights from the LUCIA Stakeholder Advisory Board.

The challenges were analyzed and categorized into four themes:

  1. Study population characteristics
  2. Recruiting enough participants
  3. Quality of data
  4. Informing participants

During the workshop, participants were organized into small groups of three to brainstorm potential solutions for these challenges. The agenda was organized on this model:

  1. Group brainstorming: participants formed groups of three and brainstormed solutions for the challenges.
  2. Voting: each group voted on the most pressing issues that needed to be addressed.
  3. Open discussion: the top three most voted challenges were discussed openly with the entire consortium to explore potential solutions.

As a result, we identified 40+ action points that will guide the consortium’s focus as we work towards impactful, real-world solutions for lung cancer screening.
